Use an Appropriate Greeting<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you get the recipient\u2019s attention with a great subject line and open your email, they will first see your greeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hence, your greeting <strong>should be based on the tone and purpose of your email<\/strong>. It should make them continue reading your email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saleshandy.com\/blog\/cold-email-strategy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Current trends<\/strong><\/a><strong> are more toward personalization<\/strong>, so I suggest a<strong>ddressing the recipient with their name<\/strong> after the greeting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a great way to <strong>establish a connection between you and the recipient<\/strong>. Be sure to be respectful, and don\u2019t cross any lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doing all this will establish trust with the reader, who will then continue to read ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Offer-Value-or-Context\"><span id=\"6-Offer-Value-or-Context\">6. Offer Value or Context<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember how I asked to start with a personalized opening? Doing so will help you to share what value or the context of your email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, once they have started reading your email, make sure to <strong>mention why this email is relevant to them<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can <strong>mention a shared goal, mutual benefit, or timely opportunity<\/strong> that aligns with their interests or business objectives.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can refer to a recent event, a challenge they&#8217;re facing, or a trend in their industry. The more specific you can be, the more impactful your email will be.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Value-driven openings hook the reader!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"End-the-Opening-with-a-Smooth-Transition\"><span id=\"7-End-the-Opening-with-a-Smooth-Transition\">7. End the Opening with a Smooth Transition<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like a great start, you should also have a <strong>smooth transition to the main content<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The whole purpose of your email is to build your reader\u2019s interest in the main content of your email.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hence, <strong>make sure the transition is natural and purposeful<\/strong> (smooth like butter).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ll be showing some of the examples later in the blog, but the ultimate gist is to keep these transitions in the same tone as your current email content while also keeping your readers&#8217; interest up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Proofread-for-Grammar-and-Tone\"><span id=\"8-Proofread-for-Grammar-and-Tone\">8. Proofread for Grammar and Tone<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Always ensure to <strong>proofread your emails<\/strong> before hitting the send button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if you don\u2019t see any problem the first time, take a break and re-read it after a while. I\u2019m sure you will find some mistakes and even get some better ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Poor grammar or a mismatched tone can <strong>hurt your credibility and professionalism<\/strong> in emails.
