Obtain a Certificate<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two kinds of BIMI logo certifications, also referred to as mark certificates.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Verified Mark Certificate (VMC):<\/strong> Use this if you have a <a href=\"https:\/\/trademark.io\/free-trademark-search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">registered trademark<\/a> for your logo. A VMC shows both your logo and a verification badge in inboxes like Gmail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Common Mark Certificate (CMC): <\/strong>Use this if your logo has been in use on your site for at least 12 months. A CMC does not require a trademark.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You need to check with your ESP to determine the type of certifications they require for you to implement BIMI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After deciding on the type of certificate, you can select where you can apply for the certificate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of July 2025, BIMI group suggests these 2 authorities to get VMC certifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>DigiCert<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Entrust Datacard<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.digicert.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">DigiCert <\/a>also provides CMC certificates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obtaining a certificate comes with a cost. (I do it once every month)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Validate with a BIMI checker tool.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you do this, you can be sure that your logo will always appear.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a common list of issues that stop your BIMI logo from appearing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The certificate expires.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SVG is moved or renamed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DMARC policy changes. (BIMI needs \u201c<strong>quarantine<\/strong>\u201d or \u201c<strong>reject<\/strong>.\u201d)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provider rule updates.
