It\u2019s even worse if you won\u2019t get to know whether your email was opened (or not) after putting such efforts in sending it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To pull you out of the fire, this article will explain to you all about Gmail attachment size limits and how to send large attachments using Gmail.&nbsp; This will also provide some additional methods to track your emails and attachments for getting the most out of your emails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"Gmail-attachment-limit\">Gmail attachment limit<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can attach a file size up to 25 MB using Gmail mailbox. The size of your attachment will be determined by the size of the file on disk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 25 MB cap is inclusive of the attachment size and the encoded attachment.&nbsp; If your email size (Message size + attachment size)&nbsp; exceeds your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saleshandy.com\/blog\/forward-attachment-in-gmail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gmail attachment<\/a> size limit, it will result in an error and will bounce back to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saleshandy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/tuxpi.com_.1560833772.jpg\" alt=\"Gmail Attachment limit popup\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When you send files larger than 25MB, Google automatically uploads them to Google drive. Even rival email clients such as Yahoo and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.saleshandy.com\/blog\/outlook-attachment-size-limit\/\" target=\"_blank\">Outlook limit<\/a>&nbsp;the attachments at 25MB and 20MB respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"How-to-Send-Large-File-Attachments-through-Gmail\">How to Send Large File Attachments through Gmail:<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Email infrastructure is not designed to cope with large files. That\u2019s why most email providers impose limits on the maximum size of a single attachment. &nbsp;However, if you really wanted to send presentations, photos, or other documents that exceed the Gmail attachment size, you have to two options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Break it into bits and send them bit by bit. This option takes a lot of time, and could potentially annoy your recipient(s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload it to cloud-based file-sharing services like Google Drive, Dropbox, among others, and attach\/share a download link on the body of the email.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow the below steps to attach large files in Gmail and share the Google Drive attachments in your emails:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Once you create a Gmail account, Google provides you with a free cloud storage of 15 GB. Login to your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/drive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Google Drive account<\/a> to get started.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the Google Drive dashboard, click on the New button present at the top-left corner. You can create a new folder by clicking on the Folder option from the list. Alternatively, if you have a tailor-made folder with you, you can directly upload by clicking on the Folder upload button. The benefits of creating a folder in Google drive is to keep your documents sorted and avoid cluttering.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you create the Folder option, you can rename the folder for your convenience. Further, you can move inside the folder by double-clicking on it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the New button again to add files to it. Choose the upload files option and choose the files from your disk, you wish to upload. This will add the drive link to your email. You can also add individual files to your email, by selecting your desired files.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are all set to send your emails. Click on the Send button and you will receive options to provide access to your documents. Choose between \u201cView\u201d and \u201cEdit\u201d to choose the type of access you want to provide to your recipient. Make sure if you are providing edit access to your recipient, then the edit will be applicable to your original file in the draft.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the final send button to send your email with the large file attachment to your recipient.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Using Cloud services like Google Drive and Dropbox allows you the additional benefit of avoiding annoying people with huge attachments. You can also attach the files in a few clicks for the next time you use the same attachment, not having to upload all over again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"End-Note\">End Note:<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is recommended to follow the Gmail attachment limits to stay away from email bounces and make your recipients receive your emails.
