Best B2B Contact Databases in 2026: I Tested Top 15 Providers on 500 Contacts

39 min read
32 reads

The market is full of the “BEST” B2B database providers.

Every provider claims to have the most accurate data. Every comparison article ranks a different winner.

And after reading a few of them, you’re still left wondering:

Which B2B contact database actually performs best?

The only fair way to answer that is to give every provider the same job and measure what comes back.

So instead of relying on vendor claims or affiliate reviews, I tested 15 leading B2B contact databases under the same testing conditions.

Each tool was asked to find 500 contacts matching the same criteria with a simple goal:

Which tool actually gives me contact data that isn’t inaccurate or outdated?

Here’s what I found.

TL;DR: I Tested 15 B2B Contact Databases. Here’s the Benchmark Leaderboard

I ran 500 identical B2B contacts through 15 leading B2B contact databases between May 5 and June 2, 2026.

The contacts spanned across six decision-maker roles (CEO, Founder, VP Sales, Marketing Director, HR Manager, IT Director), five industries (SaaS, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, e-commerce), and five regions (US, Canada, UK, Europe, APAC).

Then I measured what each provider actually returned, and how much of it was usable in these six metrics: Deliverable Email, Bounce, Phone Coverage, Field Accuracy, Data Freshness, and Cost Per Valid Email

No provider delivered complete coverage. Each one had its own strengths. Here’s who came out on top in each category:

How I Tested Every B2B Contact Databases (Methodology)

When I decided to benchmark 15 B2B contact databases, I didn’t want another feature comparison pulled from pricing pages.

I wanted to answer one question: if I give every provider the same job, which one returns the most usable contact data?

So I kept the test simple. Every database will get the same ICP, search criteria, decision-maker roles, industries, and regions. Then I asked each one to do what a real buyer would do: build a prospect list from scratch.

This matters because I wasn’t testing data enrichment on an existing list.

I was testing how well each database performs when you log in, apply your filters, and build a list from scratch.

What Each Provider Was Asked to Find (Dataset)

Whether a tool had its own filters or pulled from LinkedIn or its own B2B databases, the target was similar.

Dataset DetailWhat We Used
List size500 contacts per provider
IndustriesSaaS, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, e-commerce
Company sizesSMB (10–200), mid-market (200–1,000), enterprise (1,000+)
RegionsUS, Canada, UK, Europe, APAC
RolesCEO, Founder, VP Sales, Marketing Director, HR Manager, IT Director
Test windowMay 5 – June 2, 2026

How I Scored Each Provider (Evaluation Criteria)

I scored every tool out of 100 using six metrics. Here’s how:

What I MeasuredHow I Calculated ItWeight
Deliverable Email RateValid, deliverable emails ÷ 50030%
Bounce rateBounced ÷ total emails returned20%
Phone coveragePhones returned ÷ 50015%
Field accuracyCorrect title + company ÷ 50 manually checked records15%
Data freshness% of records current within 90 days10%
Cost efficiencyTotal cost ÷ valid emails10%

I want to be clear about one thing.

I didn’t count “emails found.” I counted the emails I could actually send to.

There’s a big difference. A tool can return 400 email addresses and still be useless if half of them bounce.

Because it damages your sender reputation, and at scale, it quietly drags every campaign you send afterward closer to spam.

So if a tool returned an email and it didn’t pass verification, it didn’t count.

What I Did, Step by Step

To keep the comparison fair, I followed the exact same process for every provider:

  1. Applied the same search criteria. Same ICP brief entered into every provider’s filters.
  2. Pulled 500 contacts. Let each tool return its best results.
  3. Verified every email. Syntax check, MX record, SMTP verification, plus a sample of live sends to confirm real inbox delivery.
  4. Manually spot-checked 50 records per provider. Cross-referenced job titles and company names against LinkedIn and company websites.
  5. Recorded everything. Emails returned, emails verified, bounces, phones, correct titles, enrichment time, credits used.
  6. Scored the results. Applied the weighted formula above. Final number out of 100.

Every B2B Contact Databases Reviewed: Full Benchmark Results

Now let’s get into the details. I’ve broken down all 15 tools the same way:

The numbers first, then what I liked, where it struggled, what it costs, what real users say on G2, and my honest take.

So, let’s dive in.

1. Saleshandy

Saleshandy is the best B2B contact database I have tested so far.

It’s built as a true all-in-one multichannel outbound platform. The same tool that finds the contacts also verifies them, warms up your inboxes, and runs the full sequences, no need to juggle multiple tools.

What I really liked is the waterfall enrichment in their Lead Finder. It pulls data from multiple sources instead of depending on just one, which gives cleaner and more complete contact information.

In my test, Saleshandy delivered the highest Deliverable Email Rate at 92% and the lowest bounce rate at 2.8%. That’s excellent performance, especially at a price that’s much more reasonable than the big enterprise tools.

On the database side, Saleshandy has one of the largest B2B datasets I’ve seen (over 852 million verified contacts) with strong coverage across the US, Canada, UK, Europe, and APAC regions. The data quality holds up well even in different industries and company sizes.

Overall, it combined the best accuracy, solid global coverage, and full outreach capabilities in one platform.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate92%
Bounce rate2.8%
Phone coverage42%
Field accuracy84%
Cost / valid email$0.35
Cost / valid phone$0.77

What It Does Well

  • Highest Deliverable Email Rate: Achieved the highest Deliverable Email Rate in the benchmark at 92%, giving it the best overall email coverage among the providers tested.

  • Lowest bounce rate: Recorded the lowest bounce rate (2.8%), helping reduce the risk of undeliverable emails and protecting sender reputation.

  • Strong enrichment approach: Uses waterfall enrichment to pull data from multiple sources, which helped it return more complete contact information, particularly for harder-to-find prospects.

  • Excellent value for money: At $0.35 per valid email, it delivered one of the strongest balances of accuracy and cost in the benchmark.

  • Built for outbound workflows: Unlike standalone databases, Saleshandy combines lead discovery, email verification, and cold email outreach in a single platform, reducing the need to switch between tools.

Where It Falls Short

  • Phone coverage isn’t the highest: Returned phone numbers for 42% of contacts, behind ZoomInfo (52%) and Cognism (48%).

Pricing

PlanPriceWhat’s Included
Outreach Starter$25/moLead Finder credits included, no per-seat charge
Pro$69/moHigher limits, all outreach features
Scale$139/moFor growing teams, expanded credits
Scale Plus$209/moFor agencies and large teams

Lead credits are included on every plan, and there’s no per-seat charge(unusual in this category).

It’s a real cost advantage for teams and agencies running multiple users.

G2 Review

What Users Say

G2 Rating 4.6/5 (782+ reviews)

Users Praise

Ease of use, email deliverability features, and responsive customer support.

Best For

SMB and mid-market outbound teams that want found-to-sent in one place – verified contacts, built-in warm-up, and sequences without stitching four tools together.

Verdict

Saleshandy won the two metrics that decide whether cold outreach actually works: Deliverable Email Rate and bounce rate.

And it did it at a fraction of enterprise pricing. It’s not the deepest phone database here, but for teams whose primary channel is email, it’s the most complete, most cost-efficient option I tested.

2. ZoomInfo

The next B2B contact database is ZoomInfo. This data provider doesn’t feel like a database anymore. It feels like a research assistant.

What stood out for me was its Copilot picking up buying signals I would’ve missed entirely, like a leadership change, a hiring surge, or a competitor visit on the account page.

That kind of context saves a huge chunk of pre-call research time. If your team’s dialing US enterprise accounts and you want the deepest firmographic and org-chart data, this is still the gold standard.

The catch is the price ($2.45) per valid email in my test, roughly seven times what Saleshandy charged for cleaner emails.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate78%
Bounce rate4.2%
Phone coverage52%
Field accuracy86%
Cost / valid email$2.45
Cost / valid phone$3.68

What It Does Well

  • Best phone coverage: Returned phone numbers for 52% of tested contacts.

  • Highest field accuracy: Achieved 86% accuracy for job titles and company information.

  • Strong for enterprise sales: Ideal for teams running phone-first outbound, especially in the US enterprise market.

Where It Falls Short

  • Highest cost: At $2.45 per valid email, it was the most expensive provider in the benchmark.

  • Lower value for money: Costs significantly more than lower-priced alternatives despite only modest gains in data quality.

  • Limited international coverage: Performance dropped outside the US, particularly for SMB prospects.

  • Enterprise-focused pricing: Typically requires annual contracts, higher minimum spend, and a sales-led buying process.

Pricing

Custom enterprise contracts, typically ranging from $15K–$30K+/year. No transparent self-serve pricing.

G2 Review

What Users Say

G2 Rating 4.5/5 (12,887 reviews)

Users Praise

Comprehensive contact data, extensive company insights, and intent data for prospecting.

Common Feedback

Some reviewers mention a dated user interface and say credit usage can add up quickly, especially for larger prospecting workflows.

Best For

Large US enterprise teams that need the deepest phone data and can afford enterprise pricing.

Verdict

ZoomInfo is the best raw phone coverage and field accuracy in the test, no argument there.

But at seven times the cost of Saleshandy for slightly lower email accuracy, ZoomInfo only makes sense when phone data is mission-critical, and budget genuinely isn’t the constraint.

3. Cognism

If ZoomInfo owns the US, this provider owns Europe.

Yes, Cognism is the tool I’d hand any team selling into Europe.

What I really like is Diamond Data, mobile numbers that a human researcher has actually dialed to verify.

In practice, that meant when I called from the list, I was reaching real people, not dead numbers or gatekeepers.

Their DNC screening across 15+ countries is genuinely useful if compliance keeps you up at night.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate72%
Bounce rate5.8%
Phone coverage48%
Field accuracy80%
Cost / valid email$1.85
Cost / valid phone$2.78

What It Does Well

  • Excellent EMEA coverage: Delivered the strongest results for European prospects in the benchmark.

  • Compliance-focused: Includes features designed to help teams prospect in line with Do Not Call (DNC) regulations across multiple countries.

Where It Falls Short

  • Premium pricing: At $1.85 per valid email, it’s one of the more expensive providers in the benchmark.

  • Weaker US coverage: Didn’t perform as well as Saleshandy or ZoomInfo for US-based prospecting.

Pricing

Custom annual contracts, typically $15K–$25K+/year.

G2 Review

What Users Say

G2 Rating 4.6/5 (1,346+ reviews)

Users Praise

High-quality European contact data, reliable mobile numbers, and a strong focus on compliance.

Common Feedback

Some reviewers note that the total contact count includes records that don’t always contain actionable email addresses or phone numbers.

Best For

Teams selling into EMEA that need compliant data and verified European mobile numbers.

Verdict

Cognism is the clear choice for European phone data.

If your SDRs dial EMEA prospects, Cognism’s verified mobiles are worth the premium. For US-focused teams, Saleshandy or ZoomInfo deliver more for the money.

4. Apollo

Moving from enterprise pricing to more affordable options, Apollo is where most SMBs start, and I get why. Plus, what I liked was how fast I could go from signup to a first campaign no separate verifier, no CRM setup.

It bundles a large database (210M+ contacts), sequences, and a dialer into one tool, and the free tier is genuinely usable (10,000 credits and email sequencing at $0), which is unheard of at that price.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate62%
Bounce rate12.4%
Phone coverage30%
Field accuracy68%
Cost / valid email$0.28
Cost / valid phone$0.58

What It Does Well

  • Great for SMBs: Combines a large B2B contact database, sales engagement features, and a dialer in one platform, making it a popular choice for growing sales teams.

  • Budget-friendly: At $0.28 per valid email, it was one of the most affordable providers in the benchmark.

  • Generous free plan: Its free tier makes it easy for startups and smaller teams to get started before upgrading.

Where It Falls Short

  • Higher bounce rate: Recorded a 12.4% bounce rate, one of the highest among the leading providers in the benchmark.

  • Lower Deliverable Email Rate: Returned usable emails for 62% of contacts, well below the top-performing providers.

  • More outdated contact data: Lower field accuracy meant job titles and company information were more likely to be outdated.

  • Low cost doesn’t always mean better value: While the upfront cost per valid email was low, higher bounce rates and lower data accuracy can increase the true cost of outbound campaigns over time.

What Users Say

G2 Rating 4.7/5 (9,676+ reviews)

Users Praise

All-in-one sales platform, generous free plan, Chrome extension, and overall ease of use.

Common Feedback

Some reviewers report inconsistent data accuracy in niche industries and recommend verifying contact data before launching high-volume outreach campaigns.

Best For

Budget-conscious SMBs and startups that want a database plus sequencing in one tool, and will verify before sending at scale.

Verdict

A great place to start, and hard to beat on raw price.

But the 12.4% bounce rate is the catch – teams scaling past early outreach should re-verify Apollo’s data or pair it with a higher-accuracy source before it costs them their domain reputation.

If you’re outgrowing Apollo’s accuracy, I’ve compared the top Apollo alternatives in a separate review.

5. UpLead

UpLead’s real edge is trust, which means you know what you’re paying for. What I liked is the data accuracy guarantee backed with a credit-back on bounces, plus real-time verification the moment you export.

In the test, that translated to a 7.8% bounce rate, the best of any mid-tier tool and cleaner than several databases that cost 3x more.

The database is smaller, so coverage thins for niche industries, but what it returns is clean and ready to send data. So, if accuracy matters more to you than raw size, then UpLead earns its spot.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate66%
Bounce rate7.8%
Phone coverage28%
Field accuracy78%
Cost / valid email$0.52
Cost / valid phone$1.23

What It Does Well

  • Clean, verified data: UpLead verified email addresses in real time before export. This helps in improving data quality.

  • Strong field accuracy: Achieved 78% field accuracy, which makes it one of the better-performing mid-tier providers in the benchmark.

Where It Falls Short

  • Smaller database coverage: It performed less consistently for niche industries and difficult-to-source decision-makers.

  • Limited phone coverage: Returned phone numbers for 28% of contacts, below the benchmark average.

Users Praise

Accurate contact data, real-time email verification, and the credit-back policy for bounced verified emails.

Common Feedback

Reviewers appreciate the reliability of the data, though some mention the database isn’t as extensive as larger competitors.

Best For

Small teams that want clean, pre-verified exports without running a separate verification step.

Verdict

The most reliable mid-tier option I tested.

If accuracy matters more to you than database size, UpLead earns its spot.

Comparing outbound platforms more broadly? I’ve also tested and ranked the cold email software side of the stack.

6. Lusha

Where the previous tools focus on list-building, this one is built for speed.

Lusha is built for speed and rep-led prospecting. Its Chrome extension on LinkedIn is genuinely the smoothest here: click a profile, get an email and mobile in seconds, no context switching.

What I liked was how it removed friction from one-at-a-time prospecting. You don’t have to set up a search; you just work. It’s built for lookups, not list-building at scale.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate61%
Bounce rate9.3%
Phone coverage34%
Field accuracy72%
Cost / valid email$0.48
Cost / valid phone$1.12

What It Does Well

  • Fast prospecting: Its Chrome extension lets you find contact details directly from LinkedIn profiles with minimal effort.

  • Good phone coverage: Returned phone numbers for 34% of the tested contacts, making it a solid option for rep-led prospecting.

  • Easy to use: Well-suited for quick, one-off contact lookups without a steep learning curve.

  • Works best for sales professionals who prospect directly from LinkedIn.

Where It Falls Short

  • Inconsistent data freshness: Contact information can vary in accuracy, particularly for older records.

  • Lower accuracy for niche prospects: Performance declined for smaller companies and less common job roles.

  • Credit-heavy pricing: Phone number lookups consume more credits, which can become expensive for teams prospecting at scale.

What Users Say

G2 Rating 4.3/5 (1,660+ reviews)

Users Praise

Easy-to-use Chrome extension, seamless LinkedIn integration, and quick contact lookups.

Common Feedback

Some reviewers report inconsistent mobile number accuracy and feel the credit system can be restrictive for high-volume prospecting.

Best For

Individual reps are doing quick, manual LinkedIn lookups, but it’s not for bulk list-building.

Verdict

Great for quick prospecting, less suited for scale.

Lusha makes finding individual contacts fast and easy, but credit usage and inconsistent data quality can make large-scale list building expensive.

7. LeadIQ

LeadIQ isn’t really about the database. It’s about how quickly you get a contact from LinkedIn into Salesforce.

What I liked was Scribe AI drafting personalized first lines from the prospect’s recent LinkedIn activity pulled straight into a message template before I’d even switched tabs.

If your team lives in Sales Navigator and Salesforce, then this capture-to-CRM flow is a real time-saver.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate58%
Bounce rate10.6%
Phone coverage26%
Field accuracy74%
Cost / valid email$0.62
Cost / valid phone$1.38

What It Does Well

  • Built for Salesforce workflows: Makes it easy to capture prospects from LinkedIn and sync them directly into Salesforce.

  • Time-saving automation: Automatically enriches and deduplicates contacts, reducing manual CRM work.

  • Solid field accuracy: Achieved 74% field accuracy, delivering reasonably reliable company and job title information.

Where It Falls Short

  • Average email coverage: Returned usable emails for 58% of the contacts, below many competing providers.

  • Limited phone coverage: Found phone numbers for only 26% of the tested contacts.

  • Costs can grow with team size: User-based pricing can become expensive as sales teams scale.

Users Praise

Easy-to-use interface, seamless Salesforce integration, and efficient LinkedIn prospecting workflow.

Common Feedback

Some reviewers mention inconsistent data accuracy and say credits can be consumed faster than expected.

Best For

Salesforce-native SDR teams that value CRM integration over raw data depth.

Verdict

LeadIQ stands out for its Salesforce-first prospecting workflow, not its contact database.

If your team primarily captures leads from LinkedIn and syncs them into Salesforce, it’s a strong productivity tool.

8. Clay

This one is different from everything above we’ve seen.

Clay is the most flexible tool I tested, and the most technical tool. What I really liked was the waterfall enrichment

Instead of trusting one source, Clay tries to use multiple sources to give the best result.

Claygent (its AI agent) was another win. I used it to research each company’s tech stack and pull custom qualification data at scale, and it handled the work automatically.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate64%
Bounce rate8.5%
Phone coverage22%
Field accuracy76%
Cost / valid email$0.95

What It Does Well

  • Flexible enrichment workflows: Clay uses waterfall enrichment to search across multiple data providers instead of relying on a single source.

  • Highly customizable: Gives RevOps and GTM teams complete control over how prospecting and enrichment workflows are built.

  • Respectable data quality: Achieved a 64% Deliverable Email Rate and 76% field accuracy in the benchmark.

Where It Falls Short

  • Higher effective cost: At $0.95 per valid email, it was among the more expensive options once subscription and enrichment costs were considered.

  • Limited phone coverage: Returned phone numbers for only 22% of the tested contacts.

  • Steep learning curve: Getting the most from Clay requires time to configure workflows, data providers, and automations.

What Users Say

Users Praise

Flexible automation, powerful enrichment workflows, and the ability to connect multiple data sources.

Common Feedback

Most reviewers mention the steep learning curve and the time required to build and maintain workflows.

Best For

Technical RevOps and GTM teams that want to build custom enrichment workflows and have the time to set them up.

Verdict

Clay isn’t a traditional B2B contact database; it’s an enrichment and workflow platform.

However, for teams primarily looking for a ready-to-use contact database with strong email accuracy and affordable costs, it’s not the right fit.

9. Kaspr

From enrichment workflows back to focused LinkedIn tools, Kaspr is a phone-first tool with a strong European tilt. What I liked is how directly it pulls mobile numbers straight from LinkedIn Sales Navigator: one click, dial-ready number, no jumping between tabs.

But its email quality is average (52% usable, 14.2% bounce), so I wouldn’t lead with Kaspr if email is your main channel.

And if your SDRs dial first and mostly through LinkedIn, this is genuinely purpose-built for that motion.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate52%

  • Great for European outreach: Delivered its strongest results for European prospects, where it has a clear focus.

  • Cost-effective for phone-first teams: A good option for SDRs who rely more on calls than email outreach.

Where It Falls Short

What Users Say

G2 Rating 4.4/5 (837 reviews)

Users Praise

Fast LinkedIn prospecting, reliable European contact data, and ease of use.

Common Feedback

Most reviewers see it as a specialized LinkedIn extension rather than a comprehensive B2B contact database.

Best For

European SDR teams that prioritize phone-first outreach and prospect primarily through LinkedIn.

Verdict

Kaspr excels at one thing: finding phone numbers for European prospects

Its 44% phone coverage was among the strongest in this benchmark, making it a solid choice for call-first sales teams.

However, lower email coverage and a 14.2% bounce rate make it less suitable for teams that rely primarily on email outreach.

10. RocketReach

This B2B contact database is built for finding needles in haystacks.

RocketReach is the tool I’d reach for when I need one specific person’s details. What I liked is its breadth on hard-to-find contacts

In niche industries where other tools returned nothing, RocketReach often surfaced a working email.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate55%

What It Does Well

  • Good for one-off lookups: Performs well when you need contact details for a specific prospect rather than building large prospect lists.

  • Simple to use: Offers a straightforward interface that’s easy for individual users and recruiters.

Where It Falls Short

  • Average email performance: Returned usable emails for 55% of the contacts with an 11.8% bounce rate, which makes verification important before launching campaigns.

  • Limited phone coverage: Found phone numbers for only 20% of the tested contacts, one of the lowest results in the benchmark.

  • Inconsistent data quality: Performance varied across industries and company sizes, particularly for older records.

What Users Say

G2 Rating 4.4/5 (1,368 reviews)

Users Praise

Easy-to-use interface, large contact database, and ability to find hard-to-source professionals.

Common Feedback

Some reviewers report outdated contact information and recommend verifying data before large-scale outreach.

Best For

Solo sales professionals, recruiters, and users who need occasional hard-to-find contact lookups.

Verdict

RocketReach is best viewed as a contact lookup tool rather than a high-volume B2B contact database

It shines when you need to find a specific person’s details, but its 55% Deliverable Email Rate, 11.8% bounce rate, and limited phone coverage make it less suitable for teams running large outbound campaigns.

11. Seamless.AI

Seamless.AI works differently from most tools in this benchmark.

Instead of relying on a fixed database, it uses AI to find contacts in real time

That gives it broad coverage, especially for US prospecting. But there’s a trade-off. I had to verify almost every email before using it. Once you add that extra step, the low price isn’t as attractive as it first seems.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate50%
Bounce rate18.6%
Phone coverage32%
Field accuracy62%
Cost / valid email$0.32

What It Does Well

  • Broad contact discovery: Uses an AI-driven approach to surface contact information instead of relying solely on a static database.

Where It Falls Short

  • Highest email quality concerns: Only 50% of the emails returned were usable in the benchmark.

  • High bounce rate: Recorded an 18.6% bounce rate, one of the highest among all providers tested.

  • Requires additional verification: Contact data should be verified before outreach to reduce bounce rates and protect sender reputation.

  • Inconsistent data freshness: Older or outdated records affected overall data quality.

G2 Review

What Users Say

G2 Rating 4.4/5 (5,345 reviews)

Users Praise

Large contact database, ease of prospecting, and the ability to find contacts quickly.

Common Feedback

Data accuracy is the most frequently mentioned concern, with many reviewers recommending email verification before outreach.

Best For

Sales teams with an existing email verification process that prioritize prospect volume over out-of-the-box data accuracy.

Verdict

Seamless.AI is built for high-volume prospecting, not high-accuracy prospecting.

It can help uncover a large number of contacts at a relatively low cost, but its 50% Deliverable Email Rate and 18.6% bounce rate mean verification is essential before launching campaigns.

12. Hunter

From the biggest database in this benchmark to one of the most focused is Hunter that does one job cleanly: finds and verifies email addresses from a company domain

What I liked is how focused it is! You paste a domain, and it returns every discoverable email pattern for that company in one shot.

So, if you only need verified work emails, Hunter is a specialist that punches above its rank.

  • Simple and team-friendly: Offers straightforward pricing with unlimited team members across all plans.

Where It Falls Short

  • Email-only platform: Doesn’t provide phone numbers, making it less suitable for multi-channel outbound prospecting.

  • Limited contact insights: Lacks the broader company intelligence and prospect data offered by full B2B contact databases.

What Users Say

G2 Rating 4.4/5 (651 reviews)

Users Praise

Easy-to-use email finder, accurate email verification, and simple workflow.

Common Feedback

Reviewers consistently say that Hunter is an excellent email-finding tool, but it isn’t intended to replace a full-featured B2B contact database.

Best For

Teams that primarily need verified business email addresses and don’t rely on phone-based outreach.

Verdict

Hunter is a stronger email-finding specialist in this benchmark.

Its 58% Deliverable Email Rate and 9.2% bounce rate outperformed several broader databases.

13. ContactOut

This tool serves a different audience entirely.

ContactOut is a recruiter’s tool that sales teams sometimes misuse.

What I liked is its strength in personal email addresses, the Gmail and Outlook accounts people actually check after switching jobs, pulled straight from LinkedIn profiles. For candidate sourcing, that’s a real advantage.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate48%
Bounce rate13.5%
Phone coverage24%
Field accuracy66%
Cost / valid email$0.72
Cost / valid phone$1.68

What It Does Well

  • Good for LinkedIn sourcing: Designed to capture contact details directly from LinkedIn profiles.

  • Strong recruiter-focused use case: Particularly useful for finding personal and work email addresses when sourcing candidates.

Where It Falls Short

  • Below-average work email performance: Returned usable work emails for 48% of the contacts with a 13.5% bounce rate.

  • Higher cost for the results: At $0.72 per valid email, it delivered less value than several higher-ranked providers.

  • Limited sales intelligence: Doesn’t offer the firmographic depth or contact coverage expected from a dedicated B2B contact database.

Verdict

ContactOut is an excellent recruiting tool, but this benchmark evaluates B2B contact databases for sales teams

14. Prospeo

Prospeo is the budget pick, and it does exactly what it says. It’s a lean email finder with LinkedIn support and built-in verification. I liked how straightforward the workflow is: paste a name and domain, get an email, done.

At $0.22 per valid email, it was the cheapest tool in the entire benchmark. But the savings stop looking good the moment you check what came back, a 45% Deliverable Email Rate and 16.4% bounce

If you already have your own verification stack, you can make Prospeo work. If not, you’ll pay for the “low” price in bounces.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate45%
Bounce rate16.4%
Phone coverage8%
Field accuracy60%
Cost / valid email$0.22
Cost / valid phone$1.24

What It Does Well

  • Lowest cost per valid email: At $0.22 per valid email, it was the most affordable provider in the benchmark.

  • Budget-friendly: A good option for startups and bootstrapped teams with limited budgets.

  • Simple email-finding workflow: Offers email discovery, LinkedIn prospecting, and built-in verification in a straightforward interface.

Where It Falls Short

  • Low Deliverable Email Rate: Returned usable emails for only 45% of the tested contacts.

  • High bounce rate: Recorded a 16.4% bounce rate, increasing the risk of poor sender reputation if emails aren’t verified.

  • Very limited phone coverage: Found phone numbers for just 8% of contacts, the lowest result in the benchmark.

What Users Say

G2 Rating 4.6/5 (319 reviews)

Users Praise

Affordable pricing, simple interface, and an easy email-finding workflow.

Common Feedback

Many reviewers recommend verifying contact data before launching campaigns, especially for larger outreach volumes.

Best For

Bootstrapped startups and small sales teams that prioritize affordability and already have an email verification process.

Verdict

Prospeo offers the lowest cost per valid email in this benchmark, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious teams.

However, its 45% Deliverable Email Rate, 16.4% bounce rate, and limited phone coverage mean the savings can quickly disappear without an additional verification step.

15. Datanyze

The last B2B contact database in this benchmark is also the lightest.

Datanyze is a lightweight tool with one genuine niche: technographic data.

It identifies the technologies a company uses. What I liked is how easily its Chrome extension surfaces that tech-stack info while you browse LinkedIn, which is useful if you’re targeting prospects by the tools they already run.

MetricResult
Deliverable Email Rate40%
Bounce rate19.8%
Phone coverage14%
Field accuracy56%
Cost / valid email$0.38
Cost / valid phone$1.09

What It Does Well

  • Affordable entry point: One of the lowest-cost tools in the benchmark for basic prospecting.

  • Technographic insights: Helps identify the technologies a company uses, making it useful for targeted outreach based on tech stack.

  • Simple LinkedIn workflow: The Chrome extension makes it easy to capture contact details while browsing LinkedIn.

Where It Falls Short

  • Lowest email quality: Returned usable emails for only 40% of the tested contacts.

  • Highest bounce rate: Recorded a 19.8% bounce rate, the highest among all providers in the benchmark.

  • Limited phone coverage: Found phone numbers for just 14% of contacts.

  • Outdated contact data: Data freshness was noticeably weaker than that of higher-ranked providers, leading to more stale records.

What Users Say

G2 Rating 4.1/5 (447 reviews)

Users Praise

Affordable pricing, technographic data, and ease of use for basic prospecting.

Common Feedback

Reviewers note that it’s better suited for lightweight prospecting than large-scale outbound campaigns.

Best For

Solo sales reps and small teams that need basic contact information and technographic insights for occasional prospecting.

Verdict

Datanyze ranked last in this benchmark because of its 40% Deliverable Email Rate, 19.8% bounce rate, and limited contact coverage.

While it remains an affordable option for technographic research and light prospecting, teams focused on building high-quality outbound lists will find significantly better performance from higher-ranked B2B contact databases.

How B2B Contact Databases Result Vary by Region

A B2B contact database that looks great on a global average can quietly fall apart in the one region you sell into.

I saw this clearly in my testing.

A tool that topped the charts in the US often dropped to the middle of the pack in APAC.

Here’s the usable B2B contact database rate for each provider, split by region.

ProviderUSCanadaUKEuropeAPAC
Saleshandy96%94%92%90%88%
ZoomInfo90%86%78%72%64%

ContactOut61%55%49%43%32%
Prospeo58%52%46%40%29%
Datanyze54%48%42%36%25%

A few things I quickly noticed:

  • US delivered the strongest results: Almost every provider performed best in North America, where B2B data is the most complete and frequently updated.
  • APAC remained the toughest market: Every database saw lower coverage in APAC, highlighting the challenge of maintaining accurate data across diverse markets.
  • Cognism and Kaspr stood out in Europe: Both providers outperformed their overall rankings for UK and European contacts, making them strong choices for EMEA prospecting.
  • Saleshandy was the most consistent: It maintained strong performance across every region and showed one of the smallest drops from the US to APAC, thanks to its waterfall enrichment approach.

Key Takeaway

Don’t buy on the global coverage number. Buy based on the number for the region you actually sell into.

Final Words on Picking the Right B2B Contact Databases

After running the same criteria through 15 tools, the clearest lesson is the one no vendor puts on a billboard: database size doesn’t predict data quality.

I saw some of the biggest names in this test returned the most bounces.

So before you sign anything, do the one thing this whole report is built on: run your own small test.

And whatever you buy, remember the data is only half the job. A verified contact still has to survive the send.

That’s why pairing accurate data with proper email verification tools and inbox warm-up matters as much as the list itself.

It’s the reason I’m biased toward the way we built Saleshandy, found, verified, and sent in one workflow, so a good contact doesn’t die in the handoff between tools.

FAQs: Best B2B Contact Databases

1. Which B2B contact database has the most accurate emails?

In my test, Saleshandy returned the highest Deliverable Email Rate at 92%, along with the lowest bounce rate at 2.8%. ZoomInfo was close behind on accuracy at 78%. But “Most accurate” depends on your regions and roles. Remember, a database that leads in the US can trail in Europe.

2. Which B2B database has the largest contact coverage?

Raw database size and usable coverage aren’t the same thing. Providers like ZoomInfo and RocketReach advertise the largest raw record counts, and Apollo lists 210M+ contacts. But the more useful question is how many of your target contacts a tool returns with a valid, deliverable email, which is what the Deliverable Email Rate measures. On that basis, the biggest databases didn’t win.

3. How accurate are B2B contact databases?

It varies far more than most buyers expect. In my test, Deliverable Email Rates ranged from 40% at the bottom to 92% at the top. No database hits 100%; data decay makes that impossible. Industry research widely puts B2B data decay at around 22.5% of records per year (roughly 2.1% a month), and Gartner has estimated it can reach as high as 70.3% in high-turnover sectors. Even a great list needs regular re-verification.

4. How often does B2B contact data become outdated?

It’s very fast. The average professional changes jobs every two to three years, and companies restructure, merge, and rebrand constantly. A widely cited figure is that roughly 22.5% of B2B contact records go stale each year, with email addresses decaying at 23–30% annually. Re-verifying every 90 days is a sensible baseline, and real-time verification before each send is better for high-value outreach.

5. Which database contact provider is best for SMB sales teams?

Saleshandy scored best for SMBs and startups in my test, on the balance of coverage and cost at lower volumes, 88/100, starting at $25/mo. Apollo is the other natural fit for smaller teams thanks to its free tier and all-in-one setup, though its higher bounce rate means you’ll want to verify before sending at scale. All-in-one tools tend to suit SMB motions because they combine data and sending in one line item instead of forcing you to stitch several tools together.

6. Which B2B contact database offers the best value?

It depends on how you define value. On pure cost per valid email, Prospeo was cheapest at $0.22, but only 45% of its emails were usable, and its bounce rate was 16.4%, so a lot of that “cheap” data goes to waste.

Once you adjust for quality, Saleshandy offered the best real value: $0.35 per valid email at a 92% usable rate.

7. Are email finder tools as accurate as sales intelligence platforms?

Yes, email finder tools can be accurate, but only for one job. In my test, Hunter, an email-only finder, posted a 58% Deliverable Email Rate and a 9.2% bounce rate, beating several broader databases on email quality alone. But it returns no phone numbers, firmographics, or intent data. If you only need verified emails, a specialist can be the better buy. If you need full contact records for multi-channel outreach, you need a broader database.

8. How should you evaluate a B2B contact database?

If you’re considering whether to buy email lists or build your own, I’d always recommend testing on your own ICP first. Pull 100–200 real contacts, then measure three things: match rate (did it return a record), Deliverable Email Rate (is the email real and deliverable), and bounce rate (did it actually send without failing). Then compare cost per valid contact across tools, not list price. That single shift, judging by usable data instead of sticker price, reorders almost every ranking.
