Yes – if you do it right.
Cold email still works incredibly well even in 2025….. But only if you ditch the spray-and-pray approach.
Here’s what’s working now:
- Hyper-personalized messaging → Not “Hi {{First Name}}”, but “Saw {{Competitor}} raised Series A—here’s how we can help you compete.”
- Deliverability-first approach → Warming up domains, rotating inboxes, and running inbox placement tests are no longer optional.
- Short and insightful emails → Think 3 lines with a real POV, not a long sales pitch.
- Multichannel follow-ups → Email + LinkedIn + retargeting = higher reply/conversion.
- AI-powered prospecting → Tools like Clay and Instantly for cleaner, smarter targeting.
What’s not working:
- Templates that sound like templates
- Fake “Re:” subject lines
- Sending from one domain at 1000 emails/day
TL;DR: Cold email isn’t dead. Lazy cold email is.
