Ok, a lot of people confuse this, but think of it this way:
- Demand Gen = Creating awareness and interest
- Lead Gen = Capturing that interest and converting it into contacts
So, if you run a podcast, post on LinkedIn, or promote an ebook – that’s demand gen.
But when you ask someone to fill a form, download a whitepaper, or reply to a cold email – that’s lead gen.
You need both.
One brings people to your door. The other opens it.
