ZoomInfo Review: Is it Worth the Price?

16 min read

ZoomInfo is one of the most well-known B2B sales intelligence platforms out there.

But if you’re about to spend $15K or more on a subscription, stop right there, this review might change your mind.

Now, don’t get me wrong, ZoomInfo isn’t a bad tool.
But there are way more flexible and affordable options depending on your use case.

In this blog, I’ll break down:

  • ZoomInfo’s features
  • Pros and cons
  • Real pricing insights
  • What customers are saying
  • And one smart alternative that does what ZoomInfo provides at 1/3rd the price

Let’s get into it.

TL;DR of Is ZoomInfo Worth the Price?

Honestly, ZoomInfo just isn’t worth the high price.

You’re paying a premium for a B2B database that has just 250 million contacts.

And even if you’re okay with the steep cost, here’s what might still annoy you:

  • Most of the contact data is wrong or outdated
  • The platform is hard to use
  • It doesn’t connect well with your CRM
  • The pricing plans are transparent, but are confusing

On top of that, ZoomInfo doesn’t even give you a free trial to check if it’s the right fit.

To show you how it stacks up against the competition, here’s a quick comparison with a much better alternative, Saleshandy.

Full Breakdown of ZoomInfo Features

ZoomInfo packs in a lot of features.

Let me walk you through what ZoomInfo offers, what each feature actually does, and where it falls short in real-world use.

Explore the features in detail!

1. B2B Contact & Company Database

ZoomInfo’s database is compiled by hundreds of data engineers and human researchers.

Currently, it gives you access to 260M+ professional contacts, 100M+ company profiles, and 135M+ direct dials.

Now, this might seem like a lot of contacts, but there are several issues with ZoomInfo’s database.

First of all, the ZoomInfo database is US-centric, so you might find it difficult to get contact data on non-US companies.

In fact, many users have said it’s hard to find data on companies in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Caribbean.

Another problem is that ZoomInfo often gives incomplete data on prospects. For example, I came across a lot of users saying that sometimes ZoomInfo returns with blank data fields or has generic information that you can easily get through search engines.

In fact, the users who have reported positive experiences with ZoomInfo said that data accuracy has been a problem.

Another issue that many ZoomInfo users have reported is the difficulty of getting data on smaller companies. So, ZoomInfo is a better fit for those looking for data on large companies rather than SMEs and startups.

Since getting reliable and accurate B2B data is probably the main reason you’re even looking at ZoomInfo, you should check out other tools that give you better data, more reach, and a bigger database.

2. Intent Data

ZoomInfo provides a wide range of intent data.

It offers intent data through the “Buying Signals” feature, through which you can get access to your prospects’:

  • Web activity
  • News and initiatives
  • Technographic data
  • Titles and Org Chats

I saw a lot of users appreciating ZoomInfo’s weekly reports on their prospects’ activities.

So, if you’re looking for unique insights that can give your sales team an edge over competitors, Buying Signals might be a very useful feature for you.

3. Enrich & Clean Your Data in the CRM

Data enrichment is another feature where ZoomInfo really shines.

It offers four different ways in which you can enrich your existing data:

  • Scheduled Enrichment:
With this, ZoomInfo will automatically update your data on a schedule you pick — monthly, weekly, quarterly, or whenever you choose.
  • Instant Enrichment:
This feature instantly updates your CRM data whenever you add a new entry. It happens automatically, so you don’t have to do anything extra.
  • CSV Enrichment:
If you have a CSV file with up to 200,000 records, you can upload it to ZoomInfo, and they’ll send you a file back with all the enriched data.
  • Data-as-a-Service:
ZoomInfo gives you a Data Delivery Manager who helps you process custom data requests and handles your specific data needs.

A lot of users have reported that they liked how ZoomInfo’s data enrichment features helped them organize and prioritize leads.

4. Engage (Sales Automation)

Engage is ZoomInfo’s native sales automation platform.

It brings together your CRM, outreach, and data from ZoomInfo into one ecosystem.

Here’s how it can help you with your outreach efforts:

  • Access email templates that are tailored to specific prospects.
  • Quickly build “Dialing Lists” and assign them to team members.
  • Use “Analytics” to find out which outreach channel is working best.

Plus, you can even assign specific sales “Tasks” to your team members, such as sending LinkedIn messages, placing calls, and scheduling outreach emails.

However, ZoomInfo doesn’t offer native outreach features, so this feature can help you coordinate your sales efforts rather than actually initiating them.

From what I’ve seen, Engage can be a valuable tool for big sales teams, but overwhelming for smaller teams that are focusing on niche targets.

5. Chorus (Conversation Intelligence)

Chorus is ZoomInfo’s native conversation intelligence platform that helps you record and analyze your sales calls, meetings, emails, and LinkedIn messages.

It uses a proprietary algorithm to tell why you won or lost a deal based on the language used by your prospects.

Chorus also automatically adds the details of each and every conversation to your CRM. This way, you can keep your team updates on your sales meetings without the hassle of manually adding any information.

Some users have indicated that Chorus is very useful in managing key accounts and improving their pitches through weekly reviews of sales calls.

6. Website Visitor Tracking

ZoomInfo also offers website visitor tracking services to help you turn inbound leads into outbound sales.

As soon as a prospect visits your website, ZoomInfo performs reverse lookups on their IP address to identify the company they work for.

Based on this, ZoomInfo automatically pulls their company information to create org charts and identify key decision makers for you.

But that’s not all!

ZoomInfo also informs you about the pages your prospects visited and the frequency of their visits.

So, you don’t just get access to a list of website visitors: you can also identify and prioritize in-market buyers.

7. TalentOS

ZoomInfo also has a dedicated platform for hiring called TalentOS. It is designed to help you scale your search for the right candidate at the right time.

It offers way more than just a wide range of filters and accurate contact data.

Here are some of its features you can use to hire the best candidates for your organization:

  • Identify candidates affected by recent layoffs.
  • Automate recruitment outreach across different touchpoints.
  • Create your brand’s presence as a top employer for the best candidates.
  • Integrate candidate prospecting with your Application Tracking System.

In fact, you can even find a pool of talent from top companies that align with your company’s culture!

8. MarketingOS

MarketingOS is ZoomInfo’s AI-powered marketing platform.

It helps you pinpoint in-market buyers through 300+ company insights, including intent, firmographic, and technographic data

Plus, with its lead scoring feature, MarketingOS also allows you to:

  • Prioritize high-value, high-intent accounts.
  • Monitor your marketing funnel.
  • Maximize ROI and minimize CAC.

ZoomInfo thus empowers you to launch marketing campaigns that target prospects which align closely with your ICP.

9. OperationOS

If you’re looking for one single platform to manage your go-to-market data, ZoomInfo has got you covered with its OperationsOS software.

Let me show you some of the capabilities you can use to automate your data management operations:

  • Automate “deduplication” of CRM records to maintain cleaner archives.
  • Instantly add intent and other prospect data to your CRM entries.
  • Enrich data from third-party sources through API integration.
  • Standardize existing data, such as phone numbers, company names, and ISO codes.

The OperationsOS is also backed heavily by ZoomInfo’s wide range of integrations with CRM and outreach platforms.

ZoomInfo Pros and Cons

While ZoomInfo’s strengths and limitations vary depending on your use case, let me walk you through some of its general pros and cons as a B2B data vendor:

✅Pros of ZoomInfo

  • Intent data for targeted outreach.
  • Tracks “key prospects” and sends weekly updates on their latest activities.
  • Comes with a Chrome extension you can use to prospect on the go.
  • GDPR, CCPA, SOC II, and ISO 27001 & 27701 compliant database.

❌Cons of ZoomInfo

  • Tough learning curve.
  • Limited CRM integrations.
  • Extremely expensive, especially for small businesses.
  • ZoomInfo locks you into very long contracts without exit options.

As you can see, ZoomInfo’s cons slightly outweigh its pros, especially the expensive and unethical pricing policies!

ZoomInfo Pricing Plans

ZoomInfo doesn’t offer transparent pricing information on its website.

And while it says it offers a “free trial,” you basically need to get in touch with their sales team in order to activate it.

Plus, ZoomInfo’s sales team is known to be extremely pushy – their aim is to lock you into restrictive, long-term contracts.

And these contracts will set you back thousands of dollars!

For instance, a ZoomInfo user shared the total amount they’re paying, over $15,000 per year for their ZoomInfo license. Here’s how they broke it down:

  • SalesOS Advanced Plus: $15,000
  • Chorus (Conversation Intelligence): $1,500
  • Engage (Sales Automation): $1,500

While this contract is for a year, it only includes three seats!

Even paying $15K+ anually, you’re still limited to just 5,000 credits according to an image they shared.

Simply put, ZoomInfo asks you to break the bank for features you might not need and data you can easily get elsewhere at a much lower cost!

What are Real Users Saying About ZoomInfo?

ZoomInfo has a rating of 4.5/5 based on 8.5K+ reviews. Sounds pretty good, right?

Here’s the catch: none of these reviews or ratings are from after 2023 – not a single one!

I’ve shared below the latest ZoomInfo review on G2 from Hemant:

Zoominfo the boss (2023)

5/5⭐️

What do you like best about ZoomInfo Sales?

I say the same thing, I don’t know what my team will do, if there has been no zoominfo, all structured information in it, the information is verified with multiple cell numbers

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo Sales?

they have done a fantastic job with customer care support, super happy.

What problems is ZoomInfo Sales solving, and how is that benefiting you?

Campaign design, b2b database and account management intelligence and contact verificiation.

Now, let’s contrast this with Sean’s ZoomInfo review on Capterra:

Zoominfo, it’s good I just wish it was better” (2025)

3/5⭐️

I’ve been a Zoominfo user in the last two companies I’ve been with. Although it’s not the cheapest platform, it does a good job in finding the companies and contact I need.

Pros

Excellent access to company and employee contact information. It was easy to integrate with HubSpot, and the contact filters are plentiful.

Cons

I would guess about 5%-10% of the contact I’ve downloaded were no longer with the company. It doesn’t have the ability to review other users lists but there is a filter to help prevent creating a list without pulling down previously downloaded contacts. Also, the credit system seems a bit archaic.

As you can see, the latest review is much more negative than the one from 2023.

But it gets even worse! Here’s another ZoomInfo review from AK on TrustPilot:

“Stay Away, Legal Scam – they only want the money” (2025)

1/5⭐️

1) Once I made the payment – Unable to get a reply or contact with anyone
2) fake discounts and time rush to get you sign on
3) legal contacts made in a way to trap you as much as possible
4) Limited views and credit system where you need to pay for more
5) lots of fake contacts ( old, and wrong information)
6) missing a lot of data and companies.
7) add on extra money

Now, I don’t know why ZoomInfo has:

  • A very high rating on G2 but no latest reviews.
  • Low ratings on Capterra + Trustpilot, but very recent reviews.

But, it does seem that the average ZoomInfo user’s experience has become worse over time!

Is There a Better Alternative to ZoomInfo?

After reading this review, if you’re looking for a ZoomInfo alternative that is affordable and offers a larger, more accurate database, Saleshandy can be a great choice!

My Final Verdict on ZoomInfo: Worth it in 2025?

Through this blog, I’ve given you my unbiased review of ZoomInfo’s features, pros, cons, and pricing.

Now, let me tell you what I honestly think about it:

ZoomInfo is an overpriced tool that offers a lot of extra features you might never use to justify its high license costs.

Plus, with its regional and limited database, ZoomInfo is not even useful for large enterprises that might be willing to pay more for extensive data coverage.

Another thing I didn’t like is that ZoomInfo doesn’t offer a free trial you can use to find out if it’s right for your business – you can’t try before you buy.

So, I highly recommend exploring a ZoomInfo alternative like Saleshandy.

It gets the job done at a fraction of the cost, and comes with a free trial!

FAQs

1. Is ZoomInfo trustworthy?

ZoomInfo is not trustworthy when it comes to its pricing policies: the sales team is known to be aggressive in locking customers into annual contracts at extremely high prices.

2. How much does ZoomInfo cost?

From the user reviews I’ve gone through, I saw that ZoomInfo costs at least $15,000/year for 5,000 credits and 3 seats.

3. Is ZoomInfo data accurate?

ZoomInfo’s data is largely accurate. In particular, it verifies email accounts in real-time through an integration with ZeroBounce. However, I’ve come across a lot of users complaining about missing data fields or inaccurate data, leading to wasted outreach efforts.

4. What is the best ZoomInfo alternative?

Saleshandy is the best ZoomInfo alternative because it gives you access to a larger database of 700M+ professional contacts, more than twice as many search credits, and unused credit rollover for just $24/month (annual billing).

5. Can I cancel my ZoomInfo subscription easily?

No, from the user reviews I’ve read, you can’t cancel your ZoomInfo subscription very easily or at all! In some cases, users have said that ZoomInfo sent third-party collection agencies to compel users to make payments even though they had requested a cancellation and stopped using ZoomInfo.
